National Hi-tech Program Open to Overseas Scientists

China is to open part of national high-tech development programs, major basic scientific research programs and several other State-level scientific development programs for overseas research organs and scientists.

A senior official with the Ministry of Science and Technology said that his ministry will choose a large group of civil projects from the national scientific development programs.

China also welcomes the participation of the building of major scientific research and development bases.

Wang Shaoqi, head of the international cooperation department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said his ministry will support more research organizations, universities and ventures to participate in global and regional scientific research programs and the building of high-tech ventures.

Wang said China is making efforts to join the Alpha International Space Station and some other major global scientific programs.
