Bank Teller Arrested for Making Fake Notes

Sichuan police have arrested a local bank employee for making fake Renminbi notes valued at more than 270,000 yuan (32,530 US dollars).

The accused man, Peng Cheng, was a teller at the Industrial and Commercial Bank in Tongjiang County, Southwest China's Sichuan Province.

He told police that he collected a large number of damaged Renminbi notes from one of his colleagues between June and November last year.

He said he used a ruler, scissors and glue to alter the damaged, low-currency bills into 100-yuan notes.
