No More Delay for Pension Payment: Minister
Zhang Zuoji, minister of Labor and Social Security, has guaranteed timely payment of pensions to retired workers.
Acknowledging that the total amount of delayed pension topped 1. 45 billion yuan from January to May this year, Zhang ordered that from beginning this June, there will be no more delay in payment The minister made the remarks here today at the opening of a national conference attended by directors of labor and social security bureaus across the country.
During the first five months this year, delaying of payment occurred in 19 provinces and autonomous regions.
The coverage of the social security system should be expanded to include all kinds of enterprises and institutions including those funded by foreign investors, Zhang said. He also urged to speed up the building of a market-oriented labor system.
