Beijing Regulates E-CommerceThe Industry and Commerce Administration of Beijing recently issued three regulations on registering on-line business activities, on-line advertising, and the commercial use of e-mail.This is part of efforts to bring order to e-commerce and ensure its healthy development, said one local official. According to the regulations, those wishing to advertise on the Internet must first obtain a permit, and those already engaging in this activity must apply for a permit within half a year. The regulations also stress that online-business must abide by related laws, and all forms of fraud are forbidden. According to the latest figures, Beijing now has 1.9 million Internet users.
