Forest Police Prepare For Possible Fire in Inner Mongolia

Forest Police, under the Chinese People's Armed Police, are bracing themselves against any possible outbreak of fires in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The move is aimed at preventing forest fires as the dry season has arrived in Inner Mongolia.

The region boasts vast forests and grasslands. This year has brought a drier climate and heavier winds. There are more combustible materials in the area, according to official sources.

Forest police has made all necessary preparations for the possible outbreak of a major fire. Aerial patrol squads have been sent by the police to monitor forests and grasslands.

Meanwhile, 3,000 police officers have been assigned to guard areas in cooperation with local forestry departments.

In the first few months of this year, forest police detected and put off dozens of large and small forest fires.
