Reception Held to Mark 25th Anniversary of Sino-EU Relations

The Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CAFFC) held a reception Tuesday marking the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and the European Union (EU).

Vice President of the CAFFC Chen Haosu delivered a speech on the occasion, saying that both China and the EU, as two important poles of the future global pattern, will contribute to world peace and development.

He positively valued the development of Sino-EU relations over the past 25 years, adding his belief that these relations will see sound development in the 21st century.

Ambassador Pedro Catarino of Portugal, the EU's current chairmanship country, said that all EU member countries are looking forward to positive results at the ongoing EU-China negotiations on China's membership in the World Trade Organization.
