State Councilor Wu Yi said Tuesday that China cherishes the Sino-Pakistani relations, and consolidating ties with Pakistan is the consistent policy of the Chinese government.

China and Pakistan are friendly neighbors and the two countries have been engaged in extensive cooperation in political and economic fields as well as in science and technology and culture, Wu said at a meeting with Pakistan's Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz.

She added that trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in diversified forms has been fruitful, and China is willing to join hands with Pakistan to further promote the cooperative ties.

Aziz said that pursuing friendly relations with China is the long-term strategic policy of Pakistan.

He said Pakistan appreciates China's rapid and stable economic development and is willing to learn the successful experiences from China in this regard.

Aziz is here to attend the 11th session of the China-Pakistan Joint Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technological Cooperation Commission.
