China, Norway Hold Fourth Judicial Round-table Meeting

China and Norway held the fourth judicial round-table meeting in Beijing from May 10 to 11, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue Thursday.

Answering a question related to the issue at a regular press conference here this afternoon, Zhang said that representatives from both sides had had candid and in-depth exchanges and discussions on matters such as the right of development, the rule of law, and the role of non-governmental organizations.

"Through the discussions, the two sides have enhanced their mutual understanding and widened their consensus," she said.

The first three Sino-Norwegian judicial round-table meetings were held respectively in 1997, 1998 and 1999, in Beijing and Oslo.
