China has concluded bilateral talks with Norway and Iceland over China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), according to Chinese trade sources in Beijing on January 28.

China's chief trade negotiator Long Yongtu signed agreements separately with negotiators of Norway and Iceland at the WTO headquarters in Geneva Friday morning.

After the signing ceremony, Norwegian official to the WTO Elin Ostebo Johansen said that Norway is pleased to make its contribution to the acceleration of China's accession process.

Icelandic Ambassador Benedikt Jonsson said that his country appreciates the spirit of mutual respect and mutual understanding shown by the Chinese side during the talks. The agreement is mutually beneficial and will promote the further development of bilateral trade, he added.

Meanwhile, the Chinese delegation headed by Long has fulfilled its current mission in Geneva and Brussels by concluding bilateral trade talks respectively with Brazil, Sri Lanka, Peru, Uruguay, Norway and Iceland in the past two weeks. It has made substantial progress in talks with several other WTO members including the European Union (EU). (Xinhua)
