Business Stock Transaction Volume Sets Record High

The stock market in Shanghai and Shenzhen saw fluctuation and quick expansion in trade volume on 17th, February. The transaction value of the two markets reached as high as 92.538 billion yuan, setting a historical record in China's stock market.

The Shanghai Composite Index (SCI) opened at 1734.24 points, a 41.16 points rise, and soared to 1770.88 points, setting the new highest record. The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 4313.90 points, a decrease of 3.22% compared to the day before. The whole day's trade volume hits 42.625 billion yuan.

Analysts say that the strong rise in Shanghai and Shenzhen market after the spring festival is encouraged by two good news, namely, the reformed methods on issuing new stocks and the emergence of 'stock-mortgaged loan'.
