Business China Names Top Ten Export Provinces and Cities

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, among China's top ten export provinces and cities in 1999, Guangdong, Shanghai and Jiangsu took the first three places; Beijing ranked 7th from last year's 10th, to be followed by Liaoning, Tianjing and Hebei.

In terms of their export amount, the first ten cities are Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Fujian, Beijing, Liaoning, Tianjin and Hebei.

The whole export worth of the first ten provinces and cities totaled US$177.146 billion, accounting for 90.9% of the year, including an export worth of US$77.675 billion by Guangdong or a 40% of the country's export amount. Shanghai ranked second, accounting for 10% of the national.
