World Brother Of Murdered PM Named As New Leader

Aram Sarkissian, the younger brother of murdered Armenian Prime Minister Vazgen Sarkissian, was named on November 3 as the country's new prime minister, according to reports reaching here Wednesday.

Sarkissian, 38, is a graduate of the architecture school at Ararat, and previously worked in a cement factory. His brother Vazgen Sarkissian was shot dead in parliament last week by gunmen.

Eight senior Armenian officials, including the prime minister and the parliament speaker, were shot dead October 27 when four gunmen stormed the Yerevan parliament.
