NANNING, Sept. 18 -- The first China-ASEAN cyberspace forum kicked off in Nanning, capital city of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on Thursday with the discussion focused on a proposal of building an "information harbor".

More than 200 people attended the event, including representatives of leading Chinese Internet companies like Baidu and Sohu and delegates of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The two-day forum seeks to create more cooperation between government, companies and scholars in the field of internet security and management.

The event is jointly organized by the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) and the government of Guangxi as an event of the ongoing China-ASEAN Expo.
