Chinese FM: victims' families heading for US tonight

BEIJING, July 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman, Hua Chunying, has said the ministry is collaborating with Zhejiang provincial government’s emergency team to handle the Chinese victims and the housing issues of those in San Francisco.

"China’s foreign ministry has been collaborating with the government of Zhejiang province, the Chinese embassy in the United States, the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco, and the Chinese embassy in South Korea to properly house the related Chinese personnel, and help the families of the Chinese victims deal with the aftermath. Meanwhile, the government of Zhejiang province has set up an emergency team to accompany the victims’ families heading to the US. The flight of the team is scheduled to depart from Zhejiang tonight. Meanwhile, the US authorities have pledged to provide all possible assistance to and coordination with the emergency team," Hua Chunying said.
