Chinese, Iranian FMs discuss ties

BEIJING, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi exchanged views on bilateral relations with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akba Salehi over the phone Thursday.

Lauding the development of bilateral ties, Salehi voiced readiness to maintain communication and contacts with Wang in a bid to jointly promote cooperation in various areas.

Extending greetings to Salehi on the Iranian New Year, Wang said China treasured its traditional friendship with Iran.

China was willing to work with Iran to maintain their healthy relationship and further promote its development so as to benefit the two countries and their people, he said.
