SANTIAGO, March 19 (Xinhua) -- China will continue to make new contributions to global prosperity as it makes headway in development amid challenges, China's Ambassador to Chile Yang Wanming has said.
China's exports grew 23.6 percent in the first two months of this year, although it faced pressure in foreign trade due to lack of global demand, said Yang in an article published Tuesday in Chilean daily La Tercera.
Meanwhile, China will continue to restructure its economy and strive to boost domestic demand to further push its growth, he said.
China's new government will continue to lead China to tackle challenges for further development, Yang said.
During the just-concluded annual session of China's top legislature, Xi Jinping was elected Chinese president, while Li Keqiang was endorsed as prime minister.
