BEIJING, Dec. 19 -- Tong Mingqian, a senior political advisor in central China's Hunan Province, is under investigation for suspected serious law and discipline violations, according to the Party discipline watchdog.

Tong, vice chairman of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, is being investigated, according to a statement posted late on Wednesday on the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China.
