Eleven Foxconn employees were injured in a brawl on Friday in east China's Shandong Province, local authorities confirmed on Monday.
Employees of a Foxconn Technology Group plant in an economic and technological development zone (ETDZ) in Yantai City were celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival on Friday and had a dispute after drinking, according to the ETDZ's management committee.
The dispute then escalated to a brawl that left 11 workers slightly injured and attracted more than 300 onlookers, said the committee.
Police arrived on the scene in a timely manner and stopped the fight. Local government has set up a work team soon after the incident.
The injured received medical treatment where necessary, but no people were killed or severely injured, said Foxconn on Sina Weibo on Monday.
An initial investigation showed two young female Foxconn workers began arguing while surfing the Internet outside the plant and the dispute escalated, leading to the brawl.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
