OIL was spotted on the undercarriage of an Asiana Airlines aircraft at Shanghai's Pudong International Airport yesterday shortly before it was due to take off for South Korea.
More than 250 passengers on board were asked to disembark and the Airbus 330-300 was towed away for repairs. Flight OZ362 from Pudong to Incheon was delayed for more than six hours.
Passengers began boarding the same aircraft at 5:50pm and it took off at 6:28pm. It had been due to leave at 12:10pm.
The oil leak was suspected to have come from the hydraulic pressure system of the undercarriage. A common glitch, according to a senior mechanic with China Eastern Airlines.
