Student found to have three house registrations

A high school student whose father was a former top county official was discovered with three hukou, the Huashang Daily reported on March 25.

The newspaper quoted an informant as saying that obtaining three hukou, or housing registrations, is clearly not possible for a high school student. No one is allowed to have more than one hukou.

The student's father, Wang Weimin, is former Party secretary of the county's health bureau.

The paper said that Wang Xianwen, the official's son, has three hukou with different numbers and different registered addresses.

Using two of the hukou, Wang Xianwen invested 400,000 yuan ($64,380) in one company on July 5, 2011, and 1 million yuan in another on Oct 13, 2010.

Wang Weimin was found to have invested 1 million yuan in a third company on Oct 21, 2011, when he was still in office, which is against a rule that bans officials from investing in any companies.

All three companies have the same legal representative — Liu Yan, Wang Weimin's wife and Wang Xianwen's mother.

The paper quoted Wang Weimin as saying that the retired official admitted that he invested in a company in violation of regulations, but he denied that his son has three hukou.
