Natural disasters kill 24 in China

BEIJING, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-four people have been killed and another four are missing due to natural disasters across China since Tuesday, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said Thursday.

A total of 1.53 million residents from the provinces of Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong and Guizhou, have been affected by disasters and 215,000 people were forced to relocate, the ministry said.

The southern regions have experienced severe weather including thunder, gales and hail since Tuesday.
