7 dead, 7 injured in SW China road accident

KUNMING, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Seven people, including one child, were killed and seven others injured when a minibus ran off a road and overturned in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Wednesday, local authorities said.

The accident occurred around 7:10 p.m., when an 18-seat minibus carrying 14 people veered off the road and overturned in Luozehe Township, Yiliang County, Zhaotong City, according to the publicity department of the county government.

The injured have been sent to local hospitals, and an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.

As of Wednesday, the death toll from another accident on an expressway in Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, on Monday rose to 15, according to the city's publicity office.
