A MAN stands accused of fatally stabbing a woman in a dispute on Monday night after she had been seen crying outside his apartment door for several nights, police and neighbors said.
The man, surnamed Wang, 42, is accused of stabbing the 32-year-old local woman, surnamed Qin, at his sixth-floor apartment on Hutai Road in Baoshan District about 7:30pm, police said. He was captured in a hotel room hours later.
A neighbor said the woman had been coming to the apartment and "crying outside the door in the middle of the night," according to an STV news report.
"She was crying so loud that I had to ask her to be quiet," the neighbor said. The woman told neighbors that she was "a friend" of the man, the news report said.
Neighbors said Wang took the woman to a hospital before fleeing. She was pronounced dead there. Wang had lived at the apartment for more than half a year.
Meanwhile, police said a man was captured yesterday on charges of stabbing another man to death on Monday night.
The 58-year-old victim was fatally wounded at a card-playing venue in a residential area in Zhabei District. The suspect fled and the victim was pronounced dead at a hospital.
