TWO people died in an explosion inside a residential building in Changchun, capital of Jilin Province, this morning.
The blast occurred around 7am in a fifth-floor apartment in the building in Luyuan District and caused the floor to cave in, the China Central Television reported.
A woman in her 40s was rescued from debris and rushed to a hospital, but she died later despite emergency treatment. A 20-year-old passer-by was hit by falling debris and died on the spot.
The blast also injured 11 others in the building, the report said.
Authorities have started an investigation into the cause of the explosion.
