BEIJING, Jan. 15 (People’s Daily Online) China’s Beidou Navigation Satellite is able to provide with positioning accuracy of 10 meters, revealed Gao Guangwei, senior engineer of China Satellite Navigation Office, in an interview with People’s Daily Online.
Gao said accuracy is the most important indicator in the open service of a satellite navigation system. “Any navigation satellite system that wants to offer service in the market must attach importance to accuracy,” he said.
In the early stage of the implementation, China Satellite Navigation Office set up static-testing and dynamic-testing sites to comprehensively evaluate the system and function of the Beidou Navigation Satellite in Asia-Pacific region.
According to the test result, Beidou can provide with positioning accuracy of 10 meters, velocity accuracy of 0.2 meters per second and one-way timing accuracy of 50 nanoseconds for China and surrounding areas, Gao said.
