The father of a 19-year-old college student who fell to her death from a restaurant window while dinning with teachers and other students in Shandong Province is accusing the school of avoiding his questions about her death.
First-year student Liu Xiao'ao was studying to become a flight attendant at Qingdao Qiu Shi College, a vocational school, when five classmates were called by five of their teachers to go out for dinner on October 27. Liu died after falling from a window in the restaurant's fourth floor washroom, the China Business Herald reported.
Liu's father was informed of his daughter's death a day later but by then the school had deleted all the information relating to her daughter and college staffers avoided meeting him. "They are shirking their responsibilities," the father said.
Local media reported that Liu's group had consumed more than 40 bottles of beer, which the father thinks was told to the media to suggest alcohol contributed his daughter's death. He said Liu was very beautiful and wants a clear explanation of what happened between his daughter and the other members of the dinner party. In 2001, a 28-year-old teacher was founded raped and murdered at the same college. Two months later, a student association leader jumped to his death for unknown reasons.
