AUCKLAND, October 14 (ChinaMil) -- A taskforce of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN) which is composed of the guided missile destroyer "Qingdao", the guided missile frigate "Linyi" and the comprehensive supply ship "Hongze Lake" arrived in Auckland in north New Zealand on October 11, 2013.

The "Qingdao" warship was open to local residents the next day. According to the readout of the security door, a total of 16,700 people came to visit the warship that day.

Auckland is the last stop of the taskforce's tour. After the arrival of the Chinese naval taskforce, local media fully reported the related activities. The "Qingdao" ship was reported to open at 09:00, but a large number of local residents rushed to the Princes Wharf and queued up for the opening of the ship at 07:00. In spite of constant showers, they still waited enthusiastically from the warship entrance to the outside of the wharf gate.
