KARACHI, August 2 (ChinaMil) -- The doctors working on the "Peace Ark" hospital ship of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN), which is offering medical services in Karachi of south Pakistan, were all very busy at 16:40 on July 31, 2013, local time.

Suddenly, noises came from a corner of the consulting room of the Surgical Department, several local women were seen surrounding a breathless little boy and didn't know what to do but tried to feed some water to him. Seeing that, Sun Dehao, head of the Surgical Department, rushed to them and wasted no time to give first aid to the boy.

"Based on his symptom, I immediately diagnosed that the boy's windpipe must be blocked with some possible foreign matter." Sun Dehao told PLA Daily afterwards, "I was sure it was a candy when I saw a candy wrapper in his hand."

Sun Dehao immediately stopped the women from feeding the boy, lifted him upside down and continuously beat him hard on his back, leaving the parents open-mouthed and wide-eyed. A minute later, with a candy falling onto the ground, a loud cry burst out in the room, which made all the people present relieved from a heavy burden. "When someone is severely deficient in oxygen cause by suffocation, drinking water is terribly dangerous, for the water will go directly into windpipe!"said Sun Dehao.

The name of the three-year-old boy is Walid Luddy. "Maybe he found the hospital ship so amazing that he forgot the candy in his mouth. The Chinese surgeon is highly skilled and experienced. I am grateful to him for saving my son!" said Luddy's mother.
