PLAN warships to conduct open-sea training

VLADIVOSTOK, July 12 (ChinaMil) -- Some warships of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN) taking part in the China-Russia maritime joint exercise codenamed "Maritime Joint Exercise 2013" will carry out open-sea training from July 12, 2013, revealed Ding Yiping, chief exercise director of the Chinese side and deputy commander of the PLAN, at the closing ceremony of the maritime joint exercise on July 11.

Upon the end of the maritime joint exercise, the Russian participating taskforce received a calling-out mission to make a new exercise assessment on the sea, and the warships of the Chinese participating taskforce were also called out to conduct a long-time open-sea training.

It is learnt that except the warships dispatched to conduct the open-sea training, the other warships will set out on a return voyage to China.
