BEIJING, June 21 (ChinaMil) -- The Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the People's Republic of China and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (SASTIND) signed a framework agreement on strategic cooperation of military-civilian integration on the afternoon of June 20, 2013.
Wu Shengli, member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and commander of the PLAN, attended and addressed the signing ceremony of the framework agreement.
According to the agreement, the PLAN, the MIIT and the SASTIND will establish and improve the cooperative mechanism with each other, conduct joint technological research and development, make technological breakthrough, strengthen the training of professional personnel and the building of National Key Laboratory of Science and Technology of the PLAN, so as to improve China's independent innovative capability of science, technology and industry of national defense and achieve new leapfrog development jointly.
Liu Xiaojiang, political commissar of the PLAN, Ding Yiping and Liu Yi, deputy commanders of the PLAN, Wang Sentai, deputy political commissar of the PLAN, Du Jingchen, chief of staff of the PLAN, Miao Wei, minister of the MIIT, and Ma Xingrui, deputy minister of the MIIT and director of the SASTIND, were present at the signing ceremony.
