ANKARA, June 21 (Xinhua) -- A military helicopter of the Turkish Armed Forces carrying command staff was attacked by four shots fired from a mountain in the southeastern province of Hakkari late Thursday, a military statement said on Friday.

The helicopter tried to avoid the shots fired by "terrorist groups" from the Ikiyaka Mountain, according to the statement issued by the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces.

However, one bullet hit the front window and partially damaged the helicopter, it said.

No casualties were reported in the attack.
