BEIJING, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited a Taiwan product fair on Thursday in Beijing.
The 2012 Beijing Taiwan Product Fair, also the 15th Tecmall Forum, was inaugurated Thursday. It was organized by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the Beijing municipal government, Taipei World Trade Center and over 20 social groups from Taiwan.
Jia visited exhibition venues featuring agricultural and cultural products, as well as other well-made products, from Taiwan.
Jia said he visited the fair with tremendous interest and deep feelings. Cross-Strait economic cooperation has vast potential and a bright outlook, he said, urging that follow-up consultations on the Cross-Strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) be carried out well.
The landmark ECFA is a wide-ranging cross-Strait economic pact signed in 2010.
