American action film "White House Down" will hit Chinese theaters on July 22, according to its importer, the China Film Group Corporation.

The film tells a story about a Capitol policeman who springs into action to save his child and protect the president from a heavily-armed group of paramilitary invaders.

The movie, co-starring Channing Tatum and Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, is directed by Roland Emmerich, who has helmed many successful blockbusters, mostly disaster films, including "Independence Day," "The Day After Tomorrow" and "2012."

"White House Down" has been bestowed with many new elements in addition to the soul-stirring traits commonly found in Hollywood disaster films, providing the audience with visual satisfaction as well as a chance to reconsider relationships between people.

According to Emmerich, all of the scenes happened in a single house concerning family, politics, actions and human nature.

The film was released in the United States on June 28, 2013.
