Best-sellng crossover soprano Sarah Brightman on Sunday stages her "Dream Chaser" concert in a mysterious, outer space stage setting.
She turns back the clock to become the little 8-year-old British girl who gazed at the stars and dreamed of flying. In 1969 she watched the first moon walk and was inspired.
Brightman, a UNESCO Artist for Peace, received medical clearance from Russia last year to begin cosmonaut training and possibly visit the International Space Station in 2015.
After finishing her global tour this year, she will go to Russia for final training and preparation.
"I might try singing in the space, since I am the most professional singer reaching outer space," says Brightman.
"I might sing in space chorally with children on the earth, and probably making it a charitable contribution."
But for her Shanghai concert, Brightman will perform some of her favorites, including "Scarborough Fair" and selections from "The Phantom of the Opera."
She performs a soprano version of "Nessun Dorma" from the opera "Turandot" as well as songs from her latest album "Dream Chaser."
Brightman also prepared her soprano version of "Nessun Dorma."
The concert will also feature dance with Oriental features.
For her album "Eden," she performed as a fairy and for the album "La Luna," she was the moonlight goddess.
"I hope my journey in space could encourage more people to chase their dreams, and help UNESCO realize the goal of global peace," Brightman has said.
