Mysterious Zhongnanhai in Beijing

Zhongnanhai refers to the two interconnected lake Central Lake and North Lake. Historically North Lake, Central Lake and South Lake are collectively called "Taiye Pool".

Zhongnanhai lies in the west of the Imperial Palace. From 1949, Zhongnanhai has become the seat of the State Department Office.
