Chinese release of 'Les Mis' set for Feb. 28

Tom Hooper's musical film "Les Miserables", an Oscar award hopeful, will hit Chinese cinemas on February 28, Mtime.com reports.

The film, starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried, will be shown in China with the original voices.

Based on the musical play of the same name which is based on Victor Hugo's novel, the film centers on Jean Valjean, an ex-convict in 19th-century France who struggles to build a new life.

The film has won eight nominations for the upcoming 85th Academy Awards, including nods for Best Picture, Best Actor for Hugh Jackman, and Best Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway.
