China's May manufacturing PMI rises to 50.8

BEIJING, June 1 (Xinhua) -- China's Purchasing Managers' Index for the manufacturing sector rose to 50.8 percent in May from 50.6 percent in April, data from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) showed Saturday.

May marked the eighth consecutive month that the PMI figure stayed above 50 percent, which demarcates expansion from contraction, according to a statement of the CFLP.
