Gold price closes higher in Hong Kong

HONG KONG, March 22 (Xinhua) -- The gold price in Hong Kong moved up 50 HK dollars to close at 14,980 HK dollars per tael on Friday, according to the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society.

The price is equivalent to 1,620 U.S. dollars a troy ounce, up 5.4 U.S. dollars at the latest exchange rate of 1 U.S. dollar against 7.762 HK dollars.
