China's foreign trade is expected to grow by around 6 percent this year, lower than the growth of GDP, an official from the Ministry of Commerce said in Shanghai over the weekend.
The official noted that China's foreign trade saw growth of 7.3 percent year-on-year in October, and that exports saw double-digit growth of 11.6 percent year-on-year. However, in November imports and exports saw negative growth, showing that problems remain for China's foreign trade.
According to figures from the National Bureau of Statistics, GDP growth in the first three quarters of this year was 7.7 percent, slightly above the target for the year of 7.5 percent.
