ISLAMABAD, July 26 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and six others injured when a roadside-planted bomb hit a passenger vehicle in Pakistan's northwest tribal region of Kurram Agency on Friday afternoon, reported local media.

Local Urdu TV channel Geo said that the blast took place at about 2:20 p.m. local time when a passenger vehicle with an unknown number of people on board was hit by a roadside-planted bomb in the Kharlachi area of Kurram Agency, one of the seven tribal areas in northwest Pakistan.

The injured have been shifted to a hospital in Parachinar, capital town of Kurram Agency, said the report.

The condition of the injured are not known for the moment.

Other details of the blast are also not immediately available as Kurram Agency is a remote mountainous area located along the Pak-Afghan border.
