Prince William, his wife Kate and their newborn baby boy have arrived at Kensington Palace. Just before they left the hospital, the royal couple gave the world its first glimpse of Britain’s newest Prince.
Only a day old, but already a star. Crowds cheered as William and Kate appeared with their baby outside St Mary’s hospital.
The royal couple, happy and relaxed, posed for photographs and joked with reporters.
William said, "He’s got a good pair of lungs on him, that’s for sure. He’s got way more (hair) than me, thank God."
The couple re-entered the hospital to place the child in a car seat before leaving.
William himself drove the young family home to Kensington Palace. Well-wishers cheered as they drove through the palace gates.
The baby was born Monday and is third in line to the British throne.
To welcome the new prince, gun salutes were fired in London, celebratory lights were turned on, and bells chimed at Westminster Abbey, where William and Kate wed at the end of April 2011.
