Indian authorities release sketches of suspect in Buddhist holy place blast

NEW DELHI, July 16 (Xinhua) -- India's National Investigation Agency in charge of probing a recent blast in the Buddhist holy place of Bodh Gaya in the eastern state of Bihar Tuesday released two sketches of a suspect based on eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage.

The suspect disguised himself as a Buddhist monk with a robe and a mask, as well as skinhead, according to the picture released by the authorities.

The suspect in monk attire was seen moving around in the temple in the wee hours of July 7 according to CCTV footage, while two foreigners and a local gave similar description of the man in his late 20s or early 30s.

The authorities have announced a reward of 600,000 rupees (10, 000 U.S. dollars) for providing information about the blast suspect.

Two were injured in the bomb attack on July 7, which was believed to be staged by local terror group Indian Mujahideen.

Some militant groups had threatened to attack Buddhists over clashes between Muslims and Buddhists in neighboring Myanmar.
