Myanmar, Norwegian Red Cross to cooperate in communal projects

YANGON, June 8 (Xinhua) -- The Red Cross societies of Myanmar and Norway will cooperate in carrying out some communal projects in Myanmar, covering logistics development, water and sanitation emergency preparedness and response and health development focusing on maternal, new-born and child health, official media reported Saturday.

Norway took a leading role among the European Union countries in clearing Myanmar's debt and lifting sanctions on the country in support of its democratic transition and economic reform among others.
