TEHRAN, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Iran will not interrupt nuclear activities and uranium enrichment under pressures, Iran's permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali-Asghar Soltanieh was quoted as saying by Press TV on Thursday.

"We'll continue our nuclear activities, including enrichment, without any interruption under the full scope safeguards ( agreement) of the IAEA," said Soltanieh.

"Our nuclear policy is very clear. The nuclear weapon does not have any place in our nuclear doctrine," said Soltanieh, adding that the recent report by the IAEA on the Islamic republic's nuclear program is not acceptable as it is meant to create " political tension."

The IAEA on Wednesday issued a new statement after a board of governor meeting, urging Iran to suspend its nuclear activities.

"We are deeply concerned that Iran continues to undertake certain nuclear activities contrary to the relevant resolutions of the Board of Governors and the UN Security Council," the statement noted.

The UN atomic agency expressed deep concern that Iran continues to push forward its nuclear plan including installing advanced centrifuges, production of enriched uranium, and construction of the IR-40 reactor at Arak.

The IAEA urged Iran to fully cooperate with the agency to resolve the outstanding issues in its nuclear program, and suspend its nuclear activities which violate relevant resolutions of UN Security Council.

Iran's representative to the IAEA said that the report shows the evidence of its nuclear program is peaceful, saying that Tehran is not heading to a nuclear bomb.
