SYNDEY, June 6 (Xinhua) -- The New South Wales (NSW) government Thursday posted a 100,000 Australian dollars (95,250 U.S. dollars) reward for information on the 1982 bombings of the Israeli Consulate in Sydney and the Jewish Hakoah Club at Bondi.
Breakthroughs have recently been made in the investigation by NSW Police and the Australian Federal Police, with the NSW Joint Counter-Terrorism Team.
Police say new information has been uncovered which could hold the key to identifying the perpetrators.
The bombings on December 23, 1982, injured two people and caused significant damage.
The first bomb exploded about 2 p.m. in the afternoon at the Israeli Consulate in William Street.
The second was left in the boot of a Valiant sedan in the car park of the Jewish social club in Hall Street, Bondi, but failed to detonate properly.
Nearly thirty years later, the case was reopened in August 2012.
Investigators have since established that the gas cylinders which formed part of the bomb at the Hakoah Club were stolen from Sydney's Central railway station.
Police have also identified a third person of interest, a woman, as well as two more vehicles linked to the attacks. The woman's image was released to the public last year.
Police will release further information later on Thursday.
