NEW DELHI, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Indian multiple investigative agencies have launched probe into Thursday's terror attacks in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh's capital Hyderabad, in which at least 15 people were killed and 78 others injured, a senior police official said Friday.

"The National Investigative Agency, the National Security Guards and the Intelligence Bureau have all been engaged into the probe, assisted by the local police. We are yet to pinpoint which militant organization carried out the twin blasts in Hyderabad in a span of less than 10 minutes near a theatre and a busy market place area respectively," he said on condition of anonymity.

Indian Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde told the media Thursday that though there were some intelligence inputs for the past two days, no specific information was available about any possible blast.

Meanwhile, the central govenment has put all major cities, including the Indian capital, Mumbai and the eastern city of Kolkata, on high alert, following the terror attacks. "A terror alert has been sounded in some major cities across India," the official said.

Local TV channels claimed that intelligence agencies suspected that terrorists could strike between Februray 14 and 25 in apparent revenge for India's execution of 2001 Parliament attacks main conspirator Afzal Guru earlier this month.
