Magnitude-8 earthquake hits Santa Cruz Islands -- USGS

WASHINGTON, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- A magnitude-8 earthquake jolted Santa Cruz Islands at 0112 GMT Wednesday from a depth of 33 km, said the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tsunami warning has reportedly been issued for South Pacific islands.
