KABUL, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan police during a series of operations have arrested 18 Taliban militants across the country over the past 24 hours, Interior Ministry said in a statement released here Monday.
During the operations which conducted in parts of Kabul, Nangarhar, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Khost and Nimroz provinces, a number of arms and ammunitions including three AK-47 assault rifles with six magazines, two pistols, seven anti-vehicle mines, 25 hand grenades and eight mortar rounds were seized by the police.
It did not say if there were any casualties on police. Taliban militants are yet to make comment.
