Brief introduction: Built in Dai calendar 854 (A.D. 1492) by the Seventh Chieftain Dao Paiyue of Menglian, Mengwai Nayun Chieftain Summer Resort is 15km from Menglian County to the road of Fuyan Town. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, Mengwai boasts a favorable natural ecological environment and breathtaking sceneries, with a forest coverage rate of 95% of the near mountains.
Dao Paiyue, a well-educated and generous chieftain with rich experience of visiting the capital of the country and Burma, is deeply respected and loved by all ethnic people. So he was worshipped as one of the 35 deities in Menglian and enshrined in the forest not far away from Mengwai Village after his eternal sleep. On August 8 each year, the villagers would hold a grand ceremony to commemorate the great King of Dai Nationality in this forest of Mengwai.
