(Shanghai Daily)

Two Taiwan women in traditional costume pose with members of a group of 2,400 tourists from the Chinese mainland at Taoyuan airport in Taipei yesterday. The tourists are part of a larger group of 12,000 people traveling to the island in five separate groups. The remaining four groups are due to arrive later this month. The visits are expected to bring NT$1.1 billion (US$36.99 million) in tourism revenue. The 12,000-member group was organized by Amway China to boost cross-Strait exchanges and business opportunities. A charity event will be part of the trip.
